  • Customize The Wordpress Contact Form 7 Plugin

I ran into an interesting problem the other day.    I’m a big fan of the Wordpress Plugin Contact Form 7.  I’ve used it on many of the wordpress sites I’ve developed, and appreciate the plugin for its simple integration, nice admin interface, and the pretty ajax functionality.

Unfortunately, I recently discovered that the plugin does not allow you to specify custom landing page urls, or Thank You pages for the contact form.  Some of you may wonder why I care about reloading the page to say thank you vs. the sleak Ajax popup confirming that your message has been delivered.  The answer: Because I’m trying to measure performance of the contact form within my Google Adwords CPC account. Payback Time – Facebook Application

Today, Payback Time, a Facebook application promoting movie review site Spill.com, was featured in an article at Wired.com.  Payback Time was developed by the Grape Thinking team, and originally launched this past summer.  It has been growing organically for the past several months, and announced and released a new feature today.

The Payback Time application gives Facebook users the ability to make reviews of boxoffice movies, either defending their honor, or demanding a refund.  If you earn enough money, you can use it to purchase movie tickets from Fandango.com.

We’ve certainly enjoyed working on this application, and look forward to watching it grow.  Please check it out, and let us know what you think!

UPDATE: Since this article was published, Payback Time has more than quadrupled their app user base!

    Popularity Contest Plugin for Wordpress

Many of you may have noticed the widget in our sidebar that shows the most popular posts.  It was originally built by Alex King and has been a great plugin for our site.  Recently, we upgraded the Grape Thinking website, and one of the items we updated was this widget.  For our non-tech-savvy readers, please feel free to play around with the links, and I apologize for any tech speak.  If you are interested in using the widget for your own sit, The “cool” functionality we created was:

    1. It’s a widget… this means you can easily place it in the sidebar of a wordpress blog.
    2. It’s smarter !  Depending on what page you are looking at, it displays different posts that are relative to what you are reading.  To see this in action, click a tag, category, archive, or an author in the sidebar, and check out the most popular posts within that section.
